Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors
in Hong Kong (SSSDP)

The SSSDP was launched in the 2015/16 academic year to subsidise local students1 to pursue designated full-time locally accredited self-financing undergraduate / sub-degree programmes in selected disciplines.

In the 2025/26 academic year, a subsidy of amount up to HK$46,780 (non-laboratory-based programmes) / HK$81,450 (laboratory-based programmes) per academic year will be provided to new entrants and continuing students of the SSSDP programmes who meet the criteria.

Eligibility

The subsidy is only applicable to local students1 who are enrolled in eligible self-financing First-year-first-degree (FYFD) programmes or Top-up Degree (TUD) programmes covered by the SSSDP. Non-local students / students enrolling in any subsidised undergraduate or sub-degree programmes / students receiving NMTSS subsidy are NOT eligible for the subsidy.

The subsidy is tenable for the normal duration of study of the programmes concerned at HSUHK. In case you take longer than the normal duration of study to complete a programme due to academic reasons, such as taking extra modules and/or retaking modules, subsidy is NOT tenable for the study period beyond the normal duration of the programme. In case of study deferment on health or other compassionate grounds, subsidy may be disbursed for the actual study periods, capped by the normal duration of study in total. The University is required to report such cases to EDB before confirmation of subsidy disbursement.

Application Procedures

Eligible students should complete and submit the online declaration on or before the stipulated due date. Late submission will not be accepted.
