Bachelor of Translation with Business (Hons) (Year 3 Student)

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) Bachelor of Translation with Business (Hons) programme consists of a group of highly professional professors and lecturers who are experienced professionals in the translation industry. Their lectures and assignments focus on illustrating both the theoretical and the practical aspects of translation and interpreting studies, which prepare the student for their future studies and careers.

Also, HSUHK values liberal studies and the all-rounded development of students. During my studies at the University, I was exposed to a wide range of courses from different disciplines. I was also offered opportunities to participate in a range of activities and internships in and out of the campus. I am actively preparing for the summer camp at Harvard University and some of my friends in the university were able to go on exchange in Canada and the UK.

Furthermore, HSUHK adopts a small-class sized lecturing mode which enables students to build bonds with their teachers easily and seek advice, academic or career-related, from them from time to time. Student Affairs Office (SAO) at HSUHK will also host seminars and activities to help students from Mainland China to get used to campus life and integration with Hong Kong society. For example, the SAO will set up WeChat groups, consisting of senior-year students and staff from SAO, to listen to and tackle the needs and concerns from Year 1 new students from the mainland. There will also be Cantonese learning workshops and seminars hosted by personnel from the Hong Kong police force to enhance students’ safety consciousness.  To sum up, I found my three years at HSUHK fruitful and extremely meaningful.
